Drying is an absolute necessity to prepare polyesters for molding. Polyesters and other polycondensation polymers can absorb moisture from the air. Dew point temperature is a useful parameter in many industrial humidity applications. It is often used to measure dryness in applications such as plastics and compressed-air drying , where the relative humidity is typically below 10%RH.
