Anritsu CS Series Micro Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu CS Series features small sensing heads for contact temperature measurement on stationary surfaces, particularly where space limits the use of larger probes.

  • Type K and Type E thermocouple options.
  • Head sizes from 3 mm diameter, depending on model.
  • −50 to 400°C range for CS-0, CS-1, CS-2 and CS-3 families.
  • −50 to 600°C range for the CS-7 family.
  • Straight and angled configurations with selectable shaft lengths, cables and connectors.

Select the sensing head and connection to suit the measurement point and thermometer.

Anritsu CS Series Micro Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu CS Series comprises compact thermocouple probes for measuring stationary surface temperatures. Small sensing heads help reach measurement points where a larger surface probe would be difficult to position.

Choose the head size, shaft arrangement and instrument connection to suit the application. These are contact probes and require a compatible thermometer or thermocouple data logger.

Specifications use a stationary, flat, smooth metal surface. Response is the time to reach 99% of the true value. Published durability exceeds 50,000 contacts under a 300°C surface test; actual service life depends on use. The probes have SUS304 shafts and phenolic-resin handles and are listed as repairable, subject to assessment.

Understanding the Order Code

For CS-11K-010-1-TC1-ANP, the code identifies the head and shaft arrangement, Type K thermocouple, 100 mm shaft, standard handle, 1 m TC cable and miniature connector.

  • Shaft length: codes 005, 010 and 015 represent 50, 100 and 150 mm.
  • Handle: 1 indicates a standard handle; 0 indicates no handle.
  • Cable: TC is used with the standard handle; TS with handle-free versions.
  • Connector: ANP is the miniature plug and ASP is the Anritsu standard plug. Other terminations are available.

Some combinations cannot be manufactured. Use the complete order code when checking supply or replacing an existing probe.

Choosing the Right Micro Surface Probe

  • Target area: check that the sensing head fits fully on the measurement surface.
  • Access: select a straight or angled shaft that allows stable contact.
  • Surface condition: coatings, roughness and curvature can affect contact and the reading.
  • Temperature: select the probe for the highest expected surface temperature.
  • Instrument: match Type K or E and the connector to the thermometer input.

A small sensing head does not eliminate contact error. Allow the reading to stabilise and use a repeatable contact method when comparing measurements.
