Ryutai Kogyo EM Series Metal Tube Flowmeters and Transmitters

The Ryutai Kogyo EM Series provides metal tube variable area flow measurement with local indication and optional electrical outputs.

  • Model configurations for liquids, gases and steam.
  • Options for remote flow monitoring, totalising and alarms.
  • Select the model, materials and connections for your operating conditions.

Ryutai Kogyo EM Series Metal Tube Variable Area Flowmeters

The Ryutai Kogyo EM Series combines a metal measuring tube with a magnetically coupled flow indicator. Choose local indication or a configuration with electrical outputs for connection to your control and monitoring system.

Key Features

  • Configurations for liquids, gases and steam.
  • Local indication without an external power supply.
  • Optional 4–20 mA, totalising pulse and alarm outputs.
  • Standard SUS304 construction, with selected alternative materials.

Compare the EM Model Families

ModelsConfigurationFluid
EMC / EMU / EMD General-purpose; standard / larger-body / smaller-body variants Liquid, gas, steam
EMW / EMX / EMY Liquid-specific float designs Liquid
EMR Large-size elbow arrangement Liquid
EMT Taper-liner design Liquid, gas, steam
EMG / EMH / EMJ Gas-damped variants Gas
EMK Slurry configuration Suitable liquid slurries
EMS Low-pressure-loss design Liquid, gas, steam

Start with the measurement task rather than choosing solely by pipe size. A model family identifies the basic construction; the complete order specification must also define the fluid, range, connections and required functions.

Core Specifications

ParameterSeries information
Body sizes 15A–150A; model-dependent
Standard rangeability 10:1
Indication accuracy ±1.5% full scale; resin floats add ±1.5% full scale
Analogue output accuracy ±2.0% full scale; resin-float allowance applies
Standard flange JIS 10K FF
Pressure and temperature Confirm for the selected construction, connection, flow direction and output

Choose the Required Output

Tell us what the receiving system needs to do:

  • Read flow at the pipe: request local indication.
  • Monitor flow remotely: specify the receiving instrument or PLC input and required analogue signal.
  • Record consumption: specify whether a local total, pulse signal or both are required.
  • Trigger an alarm: state the high or low flow threshold, number of alarm points and required contact behaviour.

Include the available supply voltage. Do not assume every function is included in the basic meter or that every combination is available.

Application and Installation Details

For liquid service, provide the fluid name, density, viscosity and operating temperature. For gas or steam, include operating pressure, temperature and the reference conditions for the required flow units.

Send a pipe sketch or photograph showing flow direction, flange orientation and available installation space. This helps us check the mechanical arrangement alongside the measuring range.

Also identify any solids, magnetic particles, corrosion concerns or hazardous-area requirements. Magnetic particles can interfere with the measuring mechanism; a slurry model should not be assumed suitable for every mixture.

Replacing an Older MCF Flowmeter

If your existing instrument is an MCF, send its complete model number, nameplate photograph, scale range and installation dimensions. Include the output, power supply and wiring information where available. Seacom can review the application for an EM configuration; retain the existing installation details until the replacement specification has been confirmed.
