Portable Multi-Point Temperature Logging

The Anritsu Meter AM-9000 Series is designed for applications where several temperatures must be viewed and recorded together. It combines a clear graphical display, multi-channel thermocouple inputs, high-speed measurement intervals and internal data memory in a portable instrument.

Recorded data can be transferred to a computer through USB and analysed with the optional AMS-950 software. The instrument can operate from four AA alkaline batteries for field work or from the optional AC adaptor for longer measurements.

Successor to the AM-8000 Series

The AM-9000 Series succeeds the older Anritsu AM-8000 Series. The AM-9000 range uses USB communication and provides 120,000-data memory across both the 6-channel and 12-channel models. Check probe connectors, thermocouple type, software and accessories when replacing an older logger.

AM-9200 Anritsu AM-9200 six-channel multi-input temperature data logger 6 Multi-input E, K, J, T or R thermocouple and DC-voltage measurement Six-point work requiring mixed thermocouple types or voltage signals
AM-9300 Anritsu AM-9300 twelve-channel multi-input temperature data logger 12 Multi-input E, K, J, T or R thermocouple and DC-voltage measurement Twelve-point work requiring mixed thermocouple types or voltage signals

Fixed-type model numbers contain the selected thermocouple letter. E and K versions are the standard listed models; J, T and R versions may be available as options. Confirm the exact model and input connector before ordering.

Thermocouple Measurement Ranges

Thermocouple typeMeasurement rangeTypical use
Type E −200 to +800 °C Low-temperature and general industrial measurements
Type K −200 to +1370 °C General-purpose measurement across a wide temperature range
Type J −200 to +1100 °C Industrial equipment and process-temperature measurement
Type T −200 to +400 °C Low-temperature, food, laboratory and refrigeration work
Type R 0 to +1760 °C High-temperature furnaces and heat-treatment applications

Temperature Measurement Accuracy

Thermocouple and rangeAM-9000 / AM-9100AM-9200 / AM-9300
E, K, J or T: −200.0 to −100.1 °C ±1.0 °C ±1.5 °C
E, K, J or T: −100.0 to −0.1 °C ±0.5 °C ±1.0 °C
E, K, J or T: 0.0 to 200.0 °C ±0.3 °C ±0.5 °C
E, K, J or T: 200.1 to 500.0 °C ±0.5 °C ±0.7 °C
E, K, J or T: above 500.0 °C ±0.7 °C ±1.0 °C
R: 0.0 to 500.0 °C ±1.5 °C ±2.0 °C
R: above 500.0 °C ±2.0 °C ±2.5 °C

Accuracy values apply at 25 °C ±10 °C, exclude reference-junction compensation accuracy and assume a measurement interval of at least one second. For intervals below one second, add ±0.5 °C for E, K, J and T thermocouples or ±1.0 °C for Type R.

Model Dimensions and Weight

ModelDimensions, W × H × DApproximate weight including batteries
AM-9000 92 × 155 × 36 mm 380 g
AM-9100 96 × 160 × 60 mm 480 g
AM-9200 92 × 155 × 36 mm 410 g
AM-9300 96 × 160 × 60 mm 540 g

Measurement Interval and Battery Planning

The interval can be set from sub-second high-speed sampling to long-duration logging. AM-9000 fixed-input 6-channel models support intervals from 0.10 to 0.99 second in 0.01-second steps. The other models support sub-second intervals from 0.20 to 0.99 second. All models support intervals from 1 second to 99 minutes 59 seconds.

12-channel intervalApproximate continuous battery operation
0.2 second 50 hours
1 second 55 hours
10 seconds 140 hours

Battery figures are reference values at 25 °C using alkaline AA batteries. Using fewer than twelve channels may extend operation. Use the optional AC adaptor for long-duration tests where uninterrupted power is required.

Typical Applications

  • Oven, furnace and heat-treatment temperature profiling
  • Multi-point temperature uniformity studies
  • Production-line and process-equipment troubleshooting
  • Electronic, semiconductor and component temperature testing
  • Food-processing, refrigeration and cold-room measurements
  • Research, development and laboratory experiments
  • Equipment commissioning and maintenance measurements

Supplied and Optional Items

IncludedAvailable separately
Four AA alkaline batteries, instruction manual, test report, soft case and USB communication cable AMS-950 analysis software, dedicated AC adaptor, carrying case and application-specific thermocouple probes

Thermocouple probes should be selected separately according to the surface, air, liquid, internal, moving-object or specialised measurement. Probe temperature range, response time, cable construction and connector type must match the application and logger.
