The Vaisala HMM100 provides reliable humidity measurement and a configurable analog output for integration into environmental chambers and OEM equipment.
The Vaisala HUMICAP® HMM100 is an open-frame humidity module designed for integration into environmental chambers and OEM equipment. It provides a single configurable analog output for relative humidity or dew point and offers several probe, cable, filter and electrical configurations.
The separate probe allows the sensing point to be installed inside the chamber while the component board remains in a protected and serviceable location. Depending on the selected configuration, the HMM100 can provide a loop-powered 4–20 mA output or a configurable current or voltage output.
The HMM100 measures relative humidity from 0–100% RH and can output either relative humidity or dew-point temperature. Full temperature compensation supports measurement across changing chamber conditions, while the available probe and filter options accommodate different temperatures and installation requirements.
Plastic and stainless-steel probe versions are available. With a suitable probe and filter, the measurement probe can operate at temperatures up to +180 °C. The component board must remain within its specified operating-temperature range.
The HMM100 is suitable for chamber controllers and data-acquisition systems that accept conventional analog signals. The required output arrangement must be selected when specifying the module.
The three-wire version can be configured for 0–1 V, 0–5 V, 0–10 V or 1–5 V output according to the controller input and module configuration.
The HMM100 uses the Vaisala HUMICAP® 180R sensor for stable humidity measurement. Two adjustment trimmers on the component board allow humidity offset and gain to be adjusted during field calibration.
A service connection is also available for configuration and calibration using the appropriate Vaisala service cable and software. Calibration frequency should be based on chamber conditions, measurement criticality, operating temperature and the applicable quality requirements.
All three modules are designed for integration into environmental chambers or OEM equipment. The correct model depends mainly on the controller interface, required outputs, chamber conditions and maintenance functions.

Quick selection: choose HMM100 when the chamber controller needs a conventional analog signal. Choose HMM105 when direct I2C communication and a compact detachable probe are required. Choose HMM170 for demanding installations needing improved accuracy, Modbus RTU, several analog outputs, longer probe cables or active condensation protection.
Before ordering the HMM100, confirm whether the controller requires a two-wire or three-wire connection, the required current or voltage signal, the output parameter, probe material, probe length, cable length, protective filter and maximum chamber temperature.
For existing equipment, provide the current HMM100 model code, wiring arrangement, power supply and controller scaling. When planning an upgrade to HMM170, the circuit-board footprint may simplify the mechanical work, but the electrical connections, controller programming and output configuration must still be checked.
