Hyoda ES-UT Explosion-Proof Thermometer with Microswitch

The Hyoda ES-UT is a liquid-filled temperature instrument with one or two microswitch contacts for temperature switching. Its wall-mounted enclosure connects to a remote sensing bulb through a capillary system, allowing the instrument to be positioned separately from the measurement point.

Hyoda lists the ES-UT with the explosion-proof designation d2G4 and IP65 enclosure protection. Select the temperature scale, sensing bulb, connection and switching configuration for the application.

The range coverage does not mean every unit has a −70 to 400°C scale. Confirm the actual scale, bulb dimensions, connection and capillary length when specifying the instrument.

Explosion Protection and Installation Requirements

Confirm the instrument marking, applicable approval documentation and installation requirements against the site's hazardous-area classification. The d2G4 designation should not be presented as an ATEX or IECEx approval without supporting documentation for the supplied instrument.

Explosion protection describes the enclosure's protection concept; it is not a process-pressure rating. Specify the process pressure separately when selecting the sensing bulb, fitting and any thermowell.

Choosing the Right Configuration

  • Temperature: provide the normal operating range, expected extremes and required switching points.
  • Contacts: specify whether one or two switching points are needed, together with the circuit voltage, load type and current.
  • Sensing bulb: confirm insertion length, diameter, process connection and material compatibility.
  • Capillary route: measure the distance between the sensing point and instrument, allowing for a protected installation route.
  • Installation: provide the hazardous-area requirements, ambient conditions and mounting details.
  • Replacement: compare the complete existing specification rather than relying on the model name alone.
