The Anritsu VA Series uses a clip-type sensing arrangement to measure heat-pipe surface temperature. Select the probe to suit the pipe dimensions and connected instrument.
The Anritsu VA Series measures the surface temperature of heat pipes using a clip-type sensing arrangement. Select the probe to match the pipe dimensions and the input of your thermometer or data logger.
| Specification | Published information |
|---|---|
| Measurement | Heat-pipe surface temperature |
| Temperature range | −50 to 300°C for the published configurations |
| Thermocouple type | Type K or Type E |
| Tolerance | ±2.5°C at a 100°C surface |
| Response time | 2 seconds under the manufacturer's test conditions |
| Complete ordering example | VA-03K-01-TS1-ANP |
The tolerance at 100°C is not a full-range accuracy specification. Confirm the clip fit, cable and connector when selecting the complete probe. Actual response depends on contact and measurement conditions.

The four Type K references from the existing page are retained below, alongside the corresponding Type E references. The final ordering code also specifies the cable and connector.
| Type K reference | Type E reference |
|---|---|
| VA-03K-01 | VA-03E-01 |
| VA-04K-01 | VA-04E-01 |
| VA-05K-01 | VA-05E-01 |
| VA-06K-01 | VA-06E-01 |
This is a surface measurement. The reading should not automatically be treated as the temperature of the fluid inside the pipe; the relationship depends on the pipe and operating conditions.
Confirm the input type and connector when combining any probe and instrument.
Send Seacom the pipe dimensions, operating temperature, measurement position and instrument model. We can help identify a suitable configuration for your enquiry.
