Rotating Surface Probe With Flexible Head UX Series Rotating Surface Probe With Flexible Head UX Series

Anritsu UX Series Moving and Rotating Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu UX Series measures the temperature of moving and rotating surfaces. Its flexible head and contact-support mechanism help maintain contact and reduce shaking during measurement.

  • Designed for moving and rotating surface measurements.
  • Flexible head with contact support.
  • Type K and Type E thermocouple options.
  • Published configurations cover −50 to 200°C or −50 to 250°C, depending on model.

Anritsu UX Series Moving and Rotating Surface Temperature Probes

The Anritsu UX Series measures temperature by contacting a moving or rotating surface. Its flexible head and contact-support mechanism help the sensing element follow the target and reduce shaking during measurement.

  • Designed for moving and rotating surface temperature measurement.
  • Contact-support design helps maintain contact with the target.
  • Type K and Type E thermocouple options.
  • Different probe configurations to suit the measurement position.

UX-221K-00-D0-1-TC1-ANP −50 to 200°C 3.5 seconds

Anritsu also lists corresponding Type E configurations. Published tolerance for these examples is ±2.5°C at a 100°C surface. Response times refer to the manufacturer's test conditions.

Confirm the complete model code before ordering. The tolerance at 100°C is not a full-range accuracy specification, and actual performance depends on surface condition, speed and contact.

Selecting a Probe for a Moving Surface

  • Target: Describe the material, surface finish and shape of the moving part.
  • Speed: Provide the surface speed. For a rotating target, include its diameter and rotational speed so the measurement conditions can be assessed.
  • Temperature: State the normal and maximum surface temperatures.
  • Measurement position: Send a photograph or drawing showing access, movement direction and how the probe will be supported.
  • Contact duration: Explain whether measurements are brief checks or extended contact.
  • Instrument: Provide the thermometer or logger model to confirm the thermocouple type and connector.

Surface speed and contact arrangement must be checked for the selected configuration. Friction and wear can affect the measurement, so a temperature rating alone is not enough to establish suitability.
