Probe Construction and Order Code
Confirm the head configuration, thermocouple type, cable length and termination together. The examples below use the manufacturer’s ANP miniature-plug configurations.
*Response is measured to 99% of the true temperature on a flat, smooth metal surface.
The manufacturer specifies ±2.5°C at 100°C surface temperature. Tolerance depends on temperature; 500°C-rated models are specified at ±3.8°C at 500°C. These are test-condition figures, not a guarantee for every installation.
WE probes have a SUS303 stainless-steel body and are listed as repairable. The published durability figure exceeds 50,000 contacts under specified test conditions; it is not a service-life guarantee.
Choosing a WE Probe
Contact area: provide the usable surface dimensions, flatness and finish. The sensing head must seat consistently.
Position: confirm that the target can support the probe stably. Review sloping surfaces, vibration and cable pull before selecting a self-supporting arrangement.
Access: choose the head size and grip to suit the surrounding equipment and handling clearance.
Temperature: check the maximum surface temperature and the separate limits of the cable and connector.
Instrument: match Type K or Type E and the plug to the thermometer or data logger.
