Anritsu SHEATH Series Bendable Temperature Probes

The Anritsu SHEATH Series measures internal temperatures in liquids, air and gases. Its bendable sheathed construction helps position the sensing section where a straight probe would be difficult to install.

Use the rating for the exact thermocouple type, diameter and sheath material. A higher rating elsewhere in the range does not apply to every configuration.

M2 and M3 are Type K options. The 0.25 and 0.5 mm sizes use Type K with Inconel. Check all requested combinations before placing an order.

Response figures are Anritsu’s published values; actual settling time depends on the medium and installation. Check the combined sheath and cable resistance against the measuring instrument’s allowable source resistance.

The published thermocouple tolerance is ±2.5°C from −40°C to below 333°C, then ±0.75% of the absolute temperature in °C within the applicable tolerance range. This does not extend the temperature rating of the selected sheath.

Installation and Selection Notes

  • Bending: Anritsu specifies a sheath bending radius of five times its outside diameter. Confirm the bending requirements for a coated configuration.
  • Medium: check chemical compatibility and the suitability of the junction and sheath for the liquid or gas.
  • Molten aluminium: do not immerse these probes in molten aluminium; it can corrode the sheath.
  • Instrument: match thermocouple type, connection and input range to the thermometer or data logger.
  • Installation: provide the required insertion length, mounting arrangement and process conditions when requesting a quotation.
