Measurement Notes

*Response times refer to 99% response in Anritsu’s boiling-water or vapour test. Actual performance depends on the sample and measurement conditions.

The six complete configurations pictured below have a specified tolerance of ±2.5°C at 100°C. Tolerance varies with temperature; this is not a constant accuracy rating across the entire range.

Temperature limits apply to the sensing section. The grip, cable and plug have separate limits. Confirm the complete assembly for the intended conditions.

How to Choose an Insertion Probe

  • Sample and access: describe the material, available insertion depth and space around the measurement point.
  • Diameter: balance the need for a small insertion hole against the handling demands. Avoid forcing a fine probe into a hard sample.
  • Insertion length: choose enough reach to position the sensing tip at the required depth without exposing the grip to unsuitable conditions.
  • Materials and cleaning: check compatibility with the liquid or sample, cleaning chemicals and required hygiene procedure.
  • Measurement stability: allow the reading to settle and keep the tip position consistent when comparing samples.
  • Instrument compatibility: match the thermocouple type and plug to the thermometer or data logger.
