The Anritsu MW Series measures the surface temperature of moving wires. Choose the roller size to match the wire diameter, then select the thermocouple and connection for your measuring instrument.

Measurement Notes

*Anritsu specifies tolerance on a stationary, flat, smooth metal surface. The response time represents 99% response on a flat, smooth metal surface. These test figures do not establish accuracy on every moving wire.

The sensing head temperature rating does not apply automatically to the grip, cable or plug. Durability depends on the application; Anritsu does not assign a standard service-life figure.

Choosing a Probe for Your Wire Process

  • Wire and coating: provide the diameter, material, surface finish and any insulation or coating at the contact point.
  • Line conditions: include wire speed, tension, direction of travel and vibration. These help assess how the probe will maintain contact.
  • Measurement objective: identify the process stage and required reading. A surface reading should not automatically be treated as the wire’s core temperature.
  • Access and mounting: describe the available space and intended probe support so the arrangement can be reviewed.
  • Instrument: provide the thermometer or data logger model and its input connector.
