Sato Refractometer SK100R, SK200R series measures liquid content by determining the refractive index of the liquid, based on the principle of total internal reflection. Therefore it cannot be used for non-translucent liquid such as milk. Brix scale is the number of grams of sucrose present per 100 grams of an aquatic solution. If a target solution is mainly consisted of materials other than sucrose, conversion of measured values are necessary for precise measurement.
