Vaisala viewLinc Continuous Monitoring System
viewLinc Continuous Monitoring System for Critical Environments
The Vaisala viewLinc Continuous Monitoring System provides continuous measurement records, real-time trends, configurable alarms and secure reporting for temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, differential pressure, door contacts and other critical parameters.
Protect products, processes and controlled environments
viewLinc combines monitoring software, Vaisala data loggers, measurement probes, network devices and compatible Modbus instruments into one scalable environmental monitoring system.
Measurements are recorded autonomously at the monitoring location and transferred to the viewLinc Enterprise Server for centralised display, alarms, reports and audit review. This independent architecture can operate alongside a building-management or process-control system.
How the viewLinc monitoring system works
Each layer of the system has a defined role—from measurement at the monitored location to centralised alarm and report management.
Measure at the Monitoring Point
Vaisala data loggers and probes measure temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide and other parameters directly at rooms, chambers, refrigerators, freezers, warehouses and production areas.
Record Data Locally
Compatible data loggers record measurements autonomously. Local device memory protects records during temporary network or server interruptions and transfers stored data after communication is restored.
Transfer Through the Facility Network
Devices can connect through Ethernet, Power over Ethernet and Vaisala VaiNet long-range wireless technology. The appropriate connection method is selected according to the site layout, infrastructure and monitoring requirements.
Monitor, Alarm and Report
viewLinc Enterprise Server receives measurement data, displays real-time and historical trends, recognises alarm conditions and creates reports for operational and quality review.
Designed for secure monitoring records
viewLinc supports regulated monitoring workflows with controlled user access, audit trails, alarm acknowledgements, secure records and configurable reports. The system can support implementation aligned with requirements such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 when it is correctly configured, validated and operated within the organisation’s quality system.
- User accounts, roles and authority levels
- Audit trails for system events and configuration changes
- Alarm acknowledgement and comment records
- Historical, alarm and audit-trail reporting
- Optional IQ/OQ protocols and GxP documentation
- Calibration options traceable to recognised standards
Build the system around each monitoring requirement
viewLinc supports different measurement and connectivity options, allowing each monitoring point to use a suitable logger, probe or transmitter.

Alarm thresholds, delays, schedules and notification routes can be configured according to monitoring-point risk and operating procedures. Alarm acknowledgements and comments provide a record of the response.
Preconfigured and custom reports can be generated for environmental history, alarms and audit trails. Reports may also be scheduled for automatic delivery to selected users.
