Vaisala RFL100 Wireless Data Logger and AP10 Access Point

The Vaisala RFL100 is a long-range wireless data logger designed for continuous environmental monitoring in pharmaceutical facilities, biotechnology laboratories, cleanrooms, warehouses, cold rooms, freezers, incubators and other controlled environments.

RFL100 data loggers use Vaisala's proprietary VaiNet wireless technology to send measurements to the Vaisala AP10 Access Point. The AP10 then transfers the measurement data through the facility's Ethernet network to the Vaisala viewLinc Continuous Monitoring System.

The system supports reliable monitoring of temperature, relative humidity and carbon dioxide while maintaining local measurement records during temporary network or power interruptions.

Why Choose the Vaisala RFL100 and AP10?

  • Long-Range Wireless Communication: VaiNet provides a typical indoor range of at least 100 metres and can communicate through walls and other building structures.
  • No Conventional Wi-Fi Required: VaiNet operates independently from the facility's standard wireless LAN, helping reduce IT-network congestion and configuration work.
  • Local Measurement Memory: Each RFL100 stores up to 30 days of measurements and automatically forwards retained records after communication is restored.
  • Extended Battery Operation: Temperature and humidity configurations can typically operate for approximately 18 months using standard AA batteries.
  • Scalable Architecture: One AP10 can connect up to 32 RFL100 data loggers, while multiple access points can support large facilities.
  • Replaceable Measurement Probes: Detachable probes simplify calibration, maintenance and probe replacement.
  • Extreme-Temperature Monitoring: Compatible probe configurations support applications extending down to liquid-nitrogen temperatures.
  • GxP Monitoring: When used with viewLinc, the system supports environmental monitoring requirements associated with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11 and GxP data-integrity practices.
