Anritsu AM-8000 Series Temperature Data Loggers — Discontinued

The Anritsu AM-8000 Series is discontinued and has been replaced by the AM-9000 Series. Select the replacement according to the number of measurement channels, thermocouple type, recording interval and any DC-voltage input requirements.

* = thermocouple type E, K, J, T or R. For fixed-type replacements, retain the required thermocouple suffix: for example, AM-8000K → AM-9000K and AM-8010E → AM-9100E. J, T and R versions are optional. AM-9200 and AM-9300 are multi-input models and do not use that suffix.

AM-9200 and AM-9300 are suggested here for the older temperature/DC-voltage variants. The current specification also lists DC-voltage measurement for fixed-type models, so they may be suitable after confirming the required input and connector configuration. Multi-input versions have different accuracy and reference-junction specifications; the choice is not solely a model-number change.

What to Check Before Replacing an AM-8000

  • Thermocouple type and connectors: confirm each probe's type, plug, polarity and extension wiring. Do not assume that a physically matching connector confirms compatibility.
  • Recording speed: state the shortest interval needed and the number of active channels. Verify the selected replacement's performance at that setting.
  • DC-voltage signals: identify any voltage inputs and required range when replacing an AM-8050, AM-8051, AM-8060, AM-8061, AM-8150, AM-8151, AM-8160 or AM-8161 variant.
  • Computer connection: older AM-8000 versions used USB or RS-232C. The AM-9000 Series uses USB; review any existing serial-port integration.
  • Software and records: retain historical files and review the move from legacy AMS-850 software to AMS-950. Do not assume identical commands, file formats or software compatibility.
  • Accessories: confirm the correct adapter, cable and case for the new logger before reusing existing items.
