Dickson round chart recorders provide a visible paper record of temperature or temperature and humidity for routine inspection and filing.
Send your existing model number, measurement range and chart reference so we can help identify a suitable configuration.
Dickson KT8 and TH8 chart recorders provide an on-site paper record that operators can inspect, annotate and file. Choose the instrument according to what you need to measure, where the sensor will be installed and how the record will be used.
The compact SC3 family records temperature where installation space is limited. Select the model and matching chart for the required temperature range.
| Model | Chart size | Temperature chart range |
|---|---|---|
| SC367 | 3-inch | -25 to 0°C |
| SC377 | 3-inch | -15 to +10°C |
| SC386 | 3-inch | -5 to +20°C |
| SC387 | 3-inch | +10 to +35°C |
| SC397 | 3-inch | +25 to +50°C |
The SL4 family provides temperature recording with a digital display. These models measure temperature only.
| Model | Chart size | Temperature chart range |
|---|---|---|
| SL4100 | 4-inch | 0 to 100°F; Celsius chart approximately -18 to +37°C |
| SL4350 | 4-inch | -30 to +50°C / -22 to +122°F |
Match the chart reference, units and recording duration to the selected instrument. Chart scales do not replace the instrument's operating specifications.

| TH6P1 | 6-inch | Evaluate TH8-10 for temperature and humidity recording |
| TH6P2 | 6-inch | Evaluate TH8-10; confirm sensor location |
| TH6P3 | 6-inch | Evaluate TH8-11 for remote sensor placement |
| KT8P0 | 8-inch | Evaluate KT8-30; confirm power and probe requirements |
| KT8P2 | 8-inch | Evaluate KT8-30 |
| KT8P3 | 8-inch | Evaluate KT8-30 or KT8-30R according to relay requirements |
| KT856 | 8-inch | Evaluate KT8-31 or KT8-31R for dual-temperature recording |
| TH8P0 | 8-inch | Evaluate TH8-10; confirm power requirements |
| TH8P2 | 8-inch | Evaluate TH8-10 |
| TH8P3 | 8-inch | Evaluate TH8-10 or TH8-11 according to sensor placement |
| TH8P5 | 8-inch | Evaluate TH8-11 or TH8-11R according to sensor and relay requirements |
Before selecting a replacement: provide the complete model number, probe details, temperature and humidity ranges, chart reference, recording duration and any alarm or relay requirements. Changing from a 6-inch to an 8-inch recorder also requires a review of mounting space and consumables.
Replacing an existing recorder? Chart size alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm the measurement range, probe arrangement, recording duration, power supply and chart reference before selecting the replacement.
The SC3 and SL4 are compact temperature-recording options, not direct replacements for TH6 or TH8 humidity recorders. Moving from a 6-inch recorder to an 8-inch model also requires a review of mounting space and consumables.
The following table is a starting point for replacement selection. These are functional alternatives to evaluate, not a guarantee of identical dimensions, wiring, accessories or performance.
| Existing model | Current model to consider | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| TH8P0, TH8P2 or TH8P3 | TH8-10 | Temperature and humidity range, sensor location and alarm requirements |
| TH8P5 or an older TH8 installation requiring remote sensing | TH8-11 | Required extension cable length and conditions at the sensor location |
| KT8P0, KT8P2 or KT8P3 | KT8-30 for a K-type thermocouple application | Existing probe type, connector, temperature range and chart scale |
| KT856 | KT8-31R for a dual-temperature thermocouple application | Both temperature channels, probe compatibility and any relay requirements |
| Older KT6 or TH6 models shown in previous catalogues | Evaluate the appropriate KT8 or TH8 configuration | This changes from a 6-inch to an 8-inch chart format; check installation space and consumables |
Before ordering: send us a photograph of the existing instrument label, its probe and the chart paper reference. If your procedure requires 31-day recording, highlight this specifically: the current 8-inch range lists 24-hour and 7-day chart rotation.
A replacement does not always need to use the same sensing technology. Depending on the application, the current range also includes:
Select the sensor and recorder together. A suitable measurement range alone does not establish compatibility with an existing probe or installation.
Charts are sold separately. Confirm the instrument configuration and required consumables together when requesting a quotation.
