EDL DBB Dual Black Body Infrared Calibrator

The EDL DBB Series combines hot and cold black body targets in one instrument for checking compatible infrared thermometers and pyrometers. The two target ranges support calibration work across low and high temperatures without changing to a separate source.

Choose the DBB-350-DRL or DBB-650-DRL according to the highest temperature you need. Both models provide a cold-side range of −30°C to 110°C.

Key Features

  • Separate hot and cold targets in one unit.
  • 50.8 mm (2-inch) diameter black body targets.
  • Removable control sensors for independent recalibration.
  • Provision for external reference sensors, sold separately.
  • 0.1°C set-point resolution.
  • RS-232 interface and iTools software.
  • Adjustable carrying handle and optional aperture accessory.

Stability and display resolution are not the complete calibration uncertainty. Confirm performance at your required temperatures, with the intended reference system and operating environment.

Matching the Target to Your Infrared Thermometer

The thermometer's measurement spot must fit within the usable target at the chosen distance. Check its optical specification, spectral range and emissivity setting before selecting the calibrator. A laser aiming mark alone does not establish the full measurement spot size.

Position the instrument consistently and allow the target to stabilise before recording readings. For traceable calibration work, use the applicable source calibration data and measurement procedure.

Reference Sensors and Accessories

External reference sensors can be selected for the hot and cold sides with a suitable calibrated readout. Confirm the temperature rating and reference configuration when ordering. The optional BB-APP aperture supports assessment of spot-size and size-of-source effects.
