The Vaisala HMK15 is a portable, power-free humidity calibrator for checking and adjusting humidity probes and transmitters with saturated salt references.
The Vaisala HMK15 generates stable relative-humidity reference points using saturated salt solutions. A humidity probe is inserted into the chamber and its reading is compared with the humidity generated by the selected salt at the measured chamber temperature.
The HMK15 is useful for routine field checks, incoming inspection, maintenance work and two- or three-point adjustment of compatible humidity probes and transmitters. Its sealed chambers and transit covers allow the kit to be moved between a laboratory, production area and service location without electrical power.

Important: the exact reference humidity changes with temperature. Measure the chamber temperature and use the value in the official HMK15 calibration table; do not enter the nominal 11, 33, 75, 85 or 97 %RH value automatically.
For instruments used across a broad humidity range, calibration is normally performed at a minimum of two reference points. Begin with the dry reference before moving to the wet reference.

Probe diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. The sensing element must be exposed to the chamber air, the opening must seal correctly and the probe must not extend into the salt solution. Share the complete probe model and filter arrangement when selecting a lid or adapter.

Calibration and adjustment are not the same: calibration records the difference between the instrument and a reference. Adjustment changes the instrument to reduce that difference. Always retain the as-found result before adjustment when measurement history matters.
