The Vaisala DMT153 provides traceable low-dew-point measurement for ultra-dry industrial processes. It is the current replacement for the DMT152, with modern analog, Modbus and Vaisala Indigo connectivity.
The Vaisala DRYCAP® DMT153 is designed for applications where a small increase in moisture can affect product quality, process stability or production yield. It measures dew point down to −80 °C Td/f and provides continuous data for process control, alarms, quality records and troubleshooting.
Its compact stainless-steel body fits OEM equipment and process installations. The transmitter can be installed directly into a suitable gas line or used with a Vaisala sampling cell when isolation, controlled sample flow or easier maintenance access is required.
| Application | What the DMT153 monitors | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Battery manufacturing | Dry rooms, dry booths, glove boxes and process equipment | Helps detect moisture excursions that can affect sensitive electrode materials and cell quality |
| Semiconductor production | Process tools, specialty-gas lines and ultra-dry enclosures | Provides continuous moisture indication for tightly controlled manufacturing processes |
| Pure-gas systems | Air, nitrogen, argon, helium and oxygen | Supports moisture-quality verification during production, distribution and use |
| Compressed air | Critical low-dew-point dryer outlets and distribution lines | Confirms dryer performance and identifies moisture breakthrough |
| OEM equipment | Compact dryers, test chambers, isolators and research systems | Combines a small installation footprint with analog or digital integration |

The DMT153 uses the Vaisala DRYCAP® 180U sensor. Automatic calibration reduces possible dry-end drift, while sensor purge heats the sensor to remove certain contaminants that could affect long-term performance. The sensor also tolerates temporary condensation and recovers when the measurement conditions become dry again.
The transmitter is supplied with factory calibration and a traceable certificate. A 24-month calibration reminder is enabled by default, although the appropriate interval should be based on the application, quality requirements and measurement conditions.
The DMT153 is the current successor to the discontinued DMT152. It retains the established DRYCAP® 180U sensor, measurement range and core performance while adding Modbus RTU, Vaisala Indigo compatibility, Insight software support and an industrial M12 connector.
