The Vaisala DPT146 combines dew-point and process-pressure measurement in one compact transmitter for compressed-air systems. This model is discontinued and should not be selected for new projects.
Product status: The Vaisala DPT146 has been discontinued and is not recommended for new projects. There is no universal one-for-one replacement because the DPT146 measures both dew point and pressure. The correct migration path depends on whether pressure measurement must be retained.
The Vaisala DPT146 was designed for monitoring compressed air where dew point changes with process pressure. By measuring both parameters at the same location, it can provide pressure-compensated humidity information without relying on a manually entered pressure value.
Typical applications include desiccant dryers, compressed-air networks, plastics drying, additive manufacturing and other industrial systems where low moisture levels must be monitored reliably.

The former DPT146 product page now points to the DMT143 family, but the DMT143 does not include process-pressure measurement. It may suit a compact dew-point-only application, but it is not a direct functional replacement.
| Selection | DPT146 legacy installation | DMT143 or DMT143L | DMP8 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary measurement | Dew point and absolute pressure | Compact dew-point measurement | Dew point and temperature |
| Pressure measurement | Integrated | Not included | Not included |
| Typical fit | Existing combined measurement point | Compact OEM equipment and small dryers | Pressurised pipelines and industrial compressed air |
| Installation | Direct process or sampling-cell installation | Compact direct or sampling installation | Adjustable insertion; optional ball-valve installation |
| Integration | Analog outputs and Modbus RTU | Analog output and RS-485 | Standalone Modbus RTU or Vaisala Indigo transmitter |

If pressure is still required: plan for a suitable dew-point instrument together with a separate pressure transmitter, then confirm how both signals and any pressure compensation will be handled by the control or monitoring system.
Record the full DPT146 order code, process connection, operating pressure, dew-point range, output scaling, Modbus settings, supply voltage, sampling arrangement and receiving-system configuration. These details are needed to determine whether the application can use a dew-point-only instrument or requires a two-instrument solution.
For an operating unit, retain the existing manuals, wiring records and calibration history. Remaining stock, calibration and service options should be checked for the individual serial number and installation.
Seacom Process Instruments supports existing Vaisala DPT146 installations in Malaysia and can assist with product-status checks, calibration planning, process-connection review, output matching and migration to a current dew-point measurement solution.
Contact Seacom with your compressed-air pressure, dew-point range, dryer type, process connection, required outputs and whether independent pressure measurement is needed. Our team can help assess a DMT143, DMP8 or separate dew-point-and-pressure arrangement for the application.
