Ryutai Kogyo ADF, GDF & GDR Water Flowmeters

Ryutai Kogyo ADF and GDF water flowmeters provide direct visual flow indication for equipment and water piping.

  • ADF: acrylic tube with Rc ½, Rc ¾ or Rc 1 connections.
  • GDF: compact glass tube design with Rc ½ connections.
  • Accuracy within ±5% of full scale.
  • Vertical installation with bottom-to-top flow.

Ryutai Kogyo ADF, GDF & GDR Water Flowmeters

The Ryutai Kogyo ADF, GDF and GDR Series provide direct visual indication of water flow using the variable area measurement principle. Choose the ADF acrylic tube flowmeter for water lines at normal temperatures, or the GDF glass tube flowmeter for a compact installation with a higher pressure or temperature requirement within its specified limits. The GDR Series provides a compact glass tube option for lower water-flow ranges.

Key Features

  • Local flow indication through a transparent tapered measuring tube.
  • ADF acrylic tube and GDF/GDR glass tube options.
  • Threaded connections for installation in compatible pipework.
  • Accuracy within ±5% of full scale and a nominal 10:1 measuring range.
  • Vertical installation with flow from bottom to top.
  • No electrical power required for the local mechanical indication.

The complete meter must be suitable for the fluid and operating conditions. For GDF and GDR, apply the lowest temperature limit of its selected components. Other liquids or gases require a separately confirmed special specification.

ADF Acrylic Tube Water Flowmeter

The ADF Series is a practical choice for visual water-flow checks in equipment and process piping operating at 0–40°C. Its acrylic tube allows the float position to be read directly against the calibrated scale. Connection size, scale and wetted materials are selected to suit the installation.

Ryutai Kogyo ADF acrylic tube water flowmeter

  • Rc ½, Rc ¾ and Rc 1 connection options.
  • Maximum working pressure of 0.3 MPa gauge.
  • Material configurations available for different water-line requirements.
  • Scale selection depends on the connection size and meter configuration.

GDF Compact Glass Tube Water Flowmeter

The GDF Series combines a glass measuring tube with a compact body for equipment installation and locations with limited mounting space. Its standard connection is Rc ½, with a face-to-face length of 150 ±3 mm. A flow-control valve is available as an option.

Ryutai Kogyo GDF acrylic tube water flowmeter

Ryutai Kogyo GDF acrylic tube water flowmeter

  • Glass tube with a standard SUS304 body.
  • Maximum working pressure of 0.5 MPa gauge.
  • Temperature capability depends on the selected float and other component materials.
  • Optional valve arrangement to suit the required installation.

GDF Water Flow Scale Options

Select one calibrated scale for each meter. These are individual measuring ranges, rather than a single adjustable range.

SeriesConnectionWater flow scale
GDF Rc ½ 0.5–5 L/min
GDF Rc ½ 1–10 L/min
GDF Rc ½ 2–20 L/min
GDF Rc ½ 3–30 L/min

For ADF, provide the required flow range and connection size so Seacom can confirm the appropriate scale and construction.

GDR Compact Glass Tube Flowmeter for Low Water Flow

The GDR Series extends the selection to lower water-flow rates than the GDF scales listed above. It uses a glass tapered tube with a standard SUS304 body and can be supplied with an optional flow-control valve.

The standard connection is Rc ½. Rc ¼ and Rc ⅜ connections use bushings and increase the face-to-face length from 150 to 172 mm, each with a ±3 mm tolerance. Confirm the complete dimensions before replacing an existing meter.

GDR Water Flow Scale Options

SeriesWater flow scale
GDR 0.05–0.5 L/min
GDR 0.1–1 L/min
GDR 0.15–1.5 L/min
GDR 0.2–2 L/min

Each range is a separate calibrated scale. Select the scale around the actual minimum, normal and maximum flow required.

Installation and Selection Notes

  • Flow range: specify minimum, normal and maximum flow, together with the preferred scale units.
  • Pressure and temperature: check continuous operating conditions and pressure surges against the selected meter’s limits.
  • Fluid compatibility: identify any additives or cleaning chemicals and confirm compatibility with all wetted materials.
  • Mounting: install vertically with flow entering at the bottom. Support the piping to avoid mechanical strain on the meter.
  • Replacement dimensions: check the connection thread, face-to-face length and available clearance. ADF, GDF and GDR are separate series and are not automatically interchangeable.
