The Vaisala GMP231 is an OEM carbon-dioxide probe designed for accurate measurement and permanent wall installation in life-science incubators.
The Vaisala GMP231 is designed specifically for incubator manufacturers and equipment integrators. It installs through the incubator wall so the CARBOCAP® sensor head is exposed to the chamber while the electronics remain outside and thermally isolated.
This construction allows the probe to remain installed during high-temperature sterilisation, reducing the need to remove and separately decontaminate the sensor. The measurement is optimized around the common 5% CO₂ incubator setpoint while covering concentrations from 0 to 20% CO₂.
Incubator-specific design: Select GMP231 when the probe must be integrated through an incubator wall and remain in place during +180 °C heat sterilisation. For a general-purpose percentage-level probe with analogue, Modbus RTU and Indigo-transmitter options, review the Vaisala GMP251.

Pressure and temperature are measured internally for compensation. Humidity and oxygen settings must match the intended chamber conditions. Incorrect compensation values can create a systematic error even when the probe is correctly calibrated.
