The Tokico FRL and FRY are high-accuracy electronic positive displacement flow meters for diesel, kerosene, fuel oil, heavy oil, lubricating oil, crude palm oil and other compatible industrial liquids.

The Tokico 75 Series combines direct volumetric measurement with a large LCD display and optional pulse, analogue and alarm outputs for local indication and integration with industrial monitoring systems.

Tokico Electronic 75 Series Positive Displacement Oil Flow Meter

The Tokico Electronic 75 Series combines a high-accuracy positive-displacement measuring unit with an easy-to-read electronic indicator. It is designed for measuring kerosene, diesel, light oil, fuel oil, heavy oil, lubricating oil and other compatible petroleum products.

The series is available with three measuring-unit families. The FGB covers smaller connection sizes and lower flow rates, the FRL provides the widest standard size and flow range, and the FRY is intended for robust heavy-oil and lubricating-oil service at fluid temperatures up to 150 °C.

After selecting the appropriate measuring unit, choose one of four electronic configurations: 75XX, 75PX, 75XA or 75PA. These variants determine whether the instrument provides local indication only, pulse output, 4–20 mA output or both output signals.

Important Selection Information

The final model must be selected using the actual fluid, minimum and maximum flow rate, operating and design temperature, operating and design pressure, viscosity, connection size, flange standard, piping orientation and required electrical output.

Where the fluid temperature approaches a model limit, the material and rotor configuration must also be confirmed. In particular, FRL temperature capability depends on the selected construction, while FRY is the dedicated 0–150 °C option for compatible heavy-oil and lubricating-oil applications.

SPI Oval Gear Flowmeter

Oval gear flowmeters are categorised as positive displacement flow technology. When liquid flows through this type of positive displacement flowmeter, two oval geared rotors measure a constant volume per rotation within a precisely machined measuring chamber.

With each rotation, a constant volume of liquid is measured. The rotation of the oval gears is sensed via magnets embedded within the rotors. These magnets transmit a high resolution pulse output. The output signal can be process externally via a remote display controller or PLC or via a variety of output/display options available as accessories attached to the flowmeters.

The positive displacement flow technology allows for precise flow measurement of most clean liquids regardless of the media conductivity. Other liquid properties also have a minimal effect on the performance of this type of meter.
